Mrs Pick leads Religious Education

  • RE

For children to have a strong understanding of their own beliefs and values, it is important for them to have opportunity to explore and challenge the beliefs and values of others.

Children at Heighington CE Primary School love RE … and so do the teachers!
We see RE as a core subject where children are supported and challenged to think deeply about the teaching of Christianity and the impact it has has upon daily life. The children learn about World Religions and develop respect, empathy and an understanding of life in multi-cultural Britain.

    Curriculum Intent/Policy

The majority of our learning is delivered using Understanding Christianity. The world religions are taken from the Durham and Newcastle Diocesan Planning.
