The Wreck of the Zanzibar by Michael Morpurgo is a historical children's novel set in 1907 on the Scilly Isles, told through the diary of 14-year-old Laura Perryman. It follows her family's struggle with poverty, a harsh storm, sickness, and the disappearance of her twin brother, Billy. The story climaxes with a shipwreck that brings rescue and hope to the community.
